What Is Sonic the Hedgehog (SNES)?

Sonic the Hedgehog for Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is an action-platformer classic from the 16-bit period with the blue hedgehog-mascot brushed off by the outside studio. Controls

However, if Sonic happens to collect a ring just as he gets hit, he gets an extra life. Avoid enemies and destroy obstacles until the goal is reached and usually face a boss battle with Dr. Eggman mechanical creations.

Tips & Tricks

Use Spin Attack by holding the B button while Sonic is running. This will knock out enemies and break these obstacles.
Try to always keep at least one ring with you: getting hit without rings means you lose a life; getting hit with rings means you lose those rings instead.
Once Sonic collects 100 rings, he enters "Boost Mode", increasing speed and flying briefly to speedy cover or wide distance.
Watch for springs, hidden doors, and other secret passages that lead to points or lives.

Sonic the Hedgehog was introduced on November 23, 1991, to a guy who launched it for the Sega Genesis, yet SNES versions are an experience worth less in contrast and perhaps a little more elegant. It was an attempt from Sega to promote their mascot to North America and has been a big favorite among those who grew up with SNES. The game's acceptance catapulted Sonic into a household gaming name.
