By delving into Sonic's rich development history, "Sonic 2 Archives" resurrects the "Present" timeline and reintroduces zones brimming with a potent mixture of both nostalgic appeal and new creative concepts.
How To Play
To play the "Sonic 2 Archives" is pretty much like how it was done in the original Sonic 2 game. Control the Sonic the Hedgehog using the arrow keys for movement, jumps, and spin attacks. Each zone is to be traversed, Chaos Emeralds gathered, and finally reach and defeat the boss. There's still fast-paced platforming action to do in each level of "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" that now comes with more innovative ideas and enhancements.
Tips & Tricks
- Get used to your Spin Attack: Use Spin Attack to destroy enemies and some objects.
- Get power-ups: Power-ups offer different benefits, such as temporary invincibility with Super Sonic ring.
- Check every nook and cranny: Some stages contain secret areas with bonus points and secrets.
- Make use of your new abilities: Wall recoil, along with Tails' flying ability, can assist in passing through some troublesome sections faster.
History
"Sonic 2 Archives" is a labor of passion by a team of committed developers, who have put dozens of hours into restoring and enhancing the original game. The project tries to portray the possibilities of "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" by giving life to concepts that ended up on the cutting room floor. The team delved into research of older prototypes and concept arts to build something that feels both familiar and new.
